Shuler found a new (old) friend today. He has been dragging this 2 foot tall penguin around the house all day. (Thanks, Aunt Liz!)

Greenville Zoo
Shuler had his first trip to the Zoo today! He was absolutely fascinated. Everything he saw was "Bopper," which has been his word for dog. The Orangutans were his favorite, but he didn't know what to call them. I guess they didn't look like a "bopper."

Ten Things I Want To Tell Teenage Girls | Kate Conner
I stumbled onto this article today and felt it was worth sharing. I think I might have to print this out and give it to my middle school girls. For anyone who has daughters (or teachers like me who love their girls), these are some thoughts to share...

Easter in the Mountains
We spent a long weekend in the mountains with Amanda & Steve. Shuler was a bit out of his element, but overall it was a good time. I'm not sure which needed more protection, Shuler or the rental house. He was so thrilled to be able to reach the buttons on the tv (much to the boys dismay during the Masters) and seemed to be moving too fast for his feet to keep up. Weekends in the mountains have definitely evolved. These days they include lots of good food, naps, scrabble, and one challenging puzzle :-) plus some time at the lake and a few good laughs.

Our little speed boat
Shuler is a speed boat these days, leaving cheerios, lovies, and tired parents in his wake :-) He is so much fun and worth every minute. Things Shuler is into right now: still has to have a lovie at all times; anything that remotely resembles a ball is a "ba;" eats just about anything we put in front of him, but if it were up to him, he would live on goldfish and cheerios and cookies (which are new to his snack rotation and takes him about 15 minutes just to eat one); still thinks Koozie is his best friend; loves books so much that he will literally come to us every 15 minutes with the same book, ready to crawl into a lap and do some reading; loves being outdoors, including swings, slides, and anything that involves water. Definitely our child!
