Cuteness

My precious boy is 16 weeks old this week. Wow, it has flown by. He is just growing up so fast and learning something new daily, it seems. We are spending all next week at Edisto with my parents and starting rice cereal in his bottle tonight. Big week for Shuler!

Shuler's First Party

Shuler finally got to meet his Daddy's side of the family this weekend & we had a marvelous time. What a lucky little boy to have such a great family! Big thanks to Aunt Manda & the Cooks!

What am I doing?

  • Grabbing everything & putting it in my mouth
  • Drooling like crazy
  • Holding my head up
  • Leaning towards things that interest me
  • Trying to sit up by myself
  • Can sit up with some support
  • Standing as long as someone balances me
  • Rolling from front to back (sometimes)
  • Cooing, Gurgling, learning new sounds I can make
  • Napping better, but still not sleeping well day or night
  • Growing! 24.5 inches, 14 pounds (approximately)

Long Week

My sweet hubby has had a long week. We spent all weekend in St. Matthews and then he left Monday for a meeting in Raleigh and then left from Raleigh to go to Lexington Tuesday and then stayed up all night Tuesday with Shuler. I put Shuler down for bed around 9:30 last night and when I came back into the living room, this was the scene I found. Please notice Koozie on the couch...she is Jason's little shadow. It's not easy being a Dad...

Congratulations Katherine & Bart!!

We went to St. Matthews for the most beautiful wedding this weekend. Shuler spent some time with GaGa & Big Daddy while we got to be grown ups (well, sort-of). He also made an appearance at the reception -- Shuler's social debut into St. Matthews society. The weekend was so much fun and we loved seeing all of my wonderful friends!

Where I come from

I discovered some old pictures and thought I would share a little bit about where Shuler comes from. He is named after his late Grandmother, Donna Shuler Wilson, and his Great-Aunt Jean & late Great-Uncle Ed Lane. These are some fun old photos I found of Shuler's namesakes:

Workin' Hard

Shuler went to work with his Daddy a few weeks ago and one of his co-workers sent me these pictures. Looks like Shuler is really learning the ropes at IPTAY...

Koozie

It's not easy being the big sister, but you are doing a great job. Shuler loves watching you and you share the attention very well, most of the time. You sneak a lick of his feet whenever possible & keep bringing him your toys, even though he is still too little to play with you. You keep a constant vigilance, pacing the floor all day between the nursery & living room. We know it's not easy adjusting to the new routine and you are just as exhausted as we are, but you handle it all so well & always save a few kisses & snuggles for us when it's finally your turn.

My Girls

Not only am I blessed with a fantastic pair of boys, I am fortunate enough to have an amazing group of girls in my life. This picture was taken 2 years ago at my wedding. Since then, 3 have gotten married and one will be married THIS SATURDAY, 3 are engaged, 5 have new homes, 3 have completed degrees (plus me), 3 have begun new degrees, 5 have new jobs, 1 is spending this summer working in Fashion in NYC (jealous much??), and all have become new Aunties to my little Shuler! I am so proud of all my girls! And, on top of it all, I have an amazing Sister-in-Law, who has been promoted to director of her department at USC, has brought an awesome new man into our lives, and is the best freaking Aunt on the planet! Wow, we are one blessed little family :-)
