Week 7

Well, Shuler has had an interesting week. I went back to Student Teaching so he's been hanging with Daddy in the mornings & I switch off with him at noon. Apparently he fusses when I'm not here and calms down when I am. Jason claims he heard the garage door opening and stopped fussing - don't tell him but I secretly smiled a little, but claimed that could not be true. His tummy seems to be getting a little better and he is napping better and sleeping better at night (5 hours, 2 nights in a row! WooHoo! - although I still feel dead, but it's definitely improvement). Also, the best thing he is doing is smiling! I can't ever catch it on camera, but those little smiles get me through the day. They are absolutely adorable. Truth be told, I get them more when I feed him than anything else, but I'm going to pretend it's me and not the milk. :-)

He fell asleep during his tummy time today and I managed to get a picture of him before I moved him so I could catch a few ZZZ's myself. He has started sleeping in his swing some this week too, which is new.

6 weeks!

For the past 6 weeks, everyone has been telling us the same thing: "It gets better after the first 6 weeks..."
Well??
I don't know how I would define better, but Shuler certainly has changed and continues to change every day!
Here are some pictures from the past 3 weeks:

This is how I prefer to sleep

Or like this...

Talking to my Lovie

Sleeping in my Boppy (lately I prefer my bouncy chair)

First Nap in my crib (this was really a fluke while I was doing laundry, but this past week he took a few naps in the crib for real...it wasn't without difficulty, but he's getting better about it)

Snuggling after Mommy's birthday dinner

Tummy Time!

Daddy's Little Man

At his 1 month doctor's visit, Shuler was 9lbs 3oz and 21 1/4 inches long. He is now 22 inches and at least 10lbs. He has definitely grown way too fast! He loves going to work with Daddy; however, when he went with me to my 6 week check up, he screamed the entire time and the nurse had to hold him just so I could see the doctor.
Among our many adventures has been sleep - not sleep for us, which we accepted long ago we would not get, but sleep for him. Shuler fights sleep more than any baby I've been around. He gets mad when he's sleepy and thrashes and does anything he can not to fall asleep (definitely did not get this from us). At this moment I am listening to him "talk" to himself on the baby monitor, which is improvement from crying, but still isn't sleeeping. The adventure continues...

3 weeks old

What am I doing?
Stretching out & Growing up!! I am an inch longer already!
Lots of wiggling and fussing, napping and eating, and snuggling is my favorite!
I love baths and am not a fan of tummy time :-)
