Bye!

Shuler has about 4 words in his vocabulary right now: Bye, Mama (which he uses for most adults), Bopper (which he uses for all animals), and Cooka (Cookie). He is truly a little mimic and picks up more from us than we realize. The last thing I do before I leave the house is put on my watch and earrings. I guess I'm usually kissing everyone bye as I'm doing this on my way out the door. Lately Shuler has found some of my old bangles and I guess to him these are like Mama's watch.
So, he will grab a bangle, push it onto his little arm, look at us and say "Bye!" It cracks us up every time.

Little People Zoo & Finger Paints

Shuler is getting to an age that his attention span is about 5-15 minutes, which is a major length of time for him. So, I have unleashed my creativity lately to provide some new activities for him. He loves animals and his Little People Zoo, so we have been creating new environments for our animals.
Last night we added the North Pole...
And today, we added a dolphin pool and grasslands...

He occupied himself moving the animals from one place to the other for about half an hour. Definitely my child!
Yesterday, we tried finger painting for the first time. Shuler, like his parents, is not one to "color inside the lines," so to speak. He had to find new ways of spreading the paint on the page.

New Toy...Tow Mater

Mother's Day

A little late, but...Happy Mother's Day! We had a fabulous Mother's Day in the lowcountry. We took Shuler to the Riverbanks Zoo, along with Aunt Manda & Uncle Steve. Shuler had a ball...ok, we had a ball too :-) Amanda and I especially loved feeding the giraffes, but Shuler wasn't too sure about the big "boppers." We also had a lovely afternoon with Gaga & Big Daddy. Shuler loved all of the books Mom has around the house and he occupied alot of his time stacking them in different places.
This was as close as Shuler would get to the gorilla

Mischievous

No explanation necessary...

Ready to go...

The Baby Pool

Shuler spent alot his time last July in this little blow up baby pool. Apparently, he doesn't remember that and we discovered this week that he is now terrified of this little pool. We tried again today, giving the pool most of the afternoon to warm up and both of us out there trying to ease him into it as he clung to us and cried. Half and hour later, this is how it ended...

Botanical Garden Plant Sale

The plant sale has been a little tradition for Jason and I, so we took Shuler for his first visit this morning. He's such a curious little boy.

Lovies

Shuler is especially attached to his "lovies." He isn't too picky, as long as it's silky.

Oops!

Climbing the hill in the backyard for the first time...with my lovies.
