My First Easter

Jason & I took Shuler & Koozie to the Mountains for Easter Weekend :-) A very nice fellow let us borrow his very nice home at Caesar's Head and we had a marvelous weekend.

Our little boy is learning to sleep! Nights are about the same, but days are much better because he is napping and much happier in between :-) It's not perfected yet, but we are definitely making progress. We've been getting outside some this week too besides our daily walks, which Shuler loves.

Sleep & Giggles

Oh, Shuler, in the past 9 weeks you have continued to keep us on our toes. You are fascinated by anything that hangs above your head. We often find you in the mornings awake and smiling, waiting for someone to come play with you, which is quite a change from the grumpy little man we put to bed each night. You are so strong for such a little boy, putting weight on your legs and pushing yourself up every chance you get. We have stressed and stressed about your struggles with nap time and then on Sunday you decided to nap for hours. Is this a new trend you're starting? Only time will tell. Monday was your 2 month check-up and we were so proud of you. Dr. Hart said that you are a healthy little boy falling into the 50th percentile in all categories. You are now up to 12lbs (almost double your birth weight!) and 23 inches! And then the best surprise of all: While Dr. Hart was checking your little tummy, you started to laugh! We were all surprised that you are laughing already and so please to know your little ticklish trigger :-) We can't wait to watch you grow, and will make sure that as you do, you discover all of the little joys that life has to offer. We love you so much!

Happy 2 Months to Shuler!

In honor of Shuler's 2 month birthday, here is one of many home videos: This is what we call "WiggleFest" :-)

What am I doing now?

• Sleeping less at night (much to my parents' dismay)
• "Talking" to my parents, the ceiling fan, and the toys on my bouncy chair (okay, so I can't make words, but it sure sounds like I am trying to chat)
• Smiling!
• Lots of wiggling & kicking
• Trying to roll over (so far I can only make it all the way on my side)
• Reaching for my parents when I see them coming
• Doing baby pushups & turning my head from side to side
• Went on my first outing to the Spring Jubilee and to get Frozen Yogurt (they wouldn't let me have any!) without any fussing
• Grasping anything that gets close to my hands
• Getting Bigger by the minute! (23 inches, 11 pounds)

My furry sister, Koozie, recently feels the need to watch over me - she thinks it takes 2 grown ups & a puppy just to watch 1 baby! (she may be right!)
